Below are a list of different photo albums chronicling different aspects of my time in the Middle East. They are listed in descending chronological order. Photo index Jericho with Walid: In June, alongside the Palestinian weightlifting champion Walid "the Beast," Jess, Zach, Rob and I hit up some historical spots in Jericho. Added: August 27, 2006. Jordanian Odyssey: Rob and I spent a week in May traveling through Jordan. We hit Amman, Wadi Musa (Petra), Wadi Rum and Aqaba. Added: August 27, 2007. Disaster in Morocco: Alongside Rob and Zach I took a trip to Morocco in February. What was supposed to be a 10-day joyride through the North African kingdom. Although it started out great, I contracted severe food poisoning and spent three days in a Moroccan hospital where I could only speak by five-year-old Spanish. I ended up going back to Jerusalem earlier. Added: August 24, 2007. Egyptian Adventure: Traveling with my roommates, I traversed Egypt, stopping mainly in Cairo and Luxor. Don't ask about the greasy restaurant in Cairo. Added: February 8, 2007. Daytime trip to Bethlehem: Convinced I didn't see enough of the historic city on Christmas Eve, I took my friend Matt to see the Church of the Nativity and other picturesque sites. Added January 6, 2007. Western Wall Tunnel Tour: A tour with Matt of the ancient tunnels alongside the Western Wall. Added: January 6, 2007. Christmas Eve in Bethlehem: Photos from my participation in the Christmas Eve festivities in Bethlehem. And yes, I was able to narrowly avoid a Hamas-Fatah shootout in the process. Added: December 25, 2006. Week in Istanbul: A week in the historic Byzantine, Ottoman and Turkish capital with Jess, Rob and Matt. Added: October 19, 2006. Trip to Hebron: Alongside a group of dissident Israeli soldiers belonging to a group called Breaking the Silence, I toured the West Bank city of Hebron. There I saw the myriad injustices heaped upon the Palestinian population for the benefit of settler security. Added: October 6, 2006. Trip to Ramallah: After an adventure in its surrounding refugee camps, I arrive to visit my friend Nada and her family in Ramallah. While there, we went to a well-known bar and visited Yassir Arafat's grave in the Muq'ata. What a bizarre sight. Added: September 4, 2006. Visit to the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif: Pictures from an early-morning visit to the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, the holiest ground in the world. Added: September 4, 2006. Another Day in the Old City: Some photos from a trip to explore some more tucked-away corners of the Old City. We stole a sweet view of the Dome of the Rock from a school near the First Station of the Cross. Added: September 4, 2006. Trip down the Via Dolorosa and to the Western Wall: Alongside my roommates, we took the historic last voyage of Jesus to his crucifixion at the site now occupied by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Great stuff. Added: September 4, 2006.
